A trustworthy steed.
What's new on the homefront? Just a few quick games.

FFXI is not as good as I previously thought, the logging in and quitting process became too much of a hassle (that and the lack of skills for my character). I have been logging some time on my friend's City of Heroes account, and am throuogly impressed with my meager time spent playing. After 3 hours of playing it, you a great background on your character's development, get a handle on how the city works and the adjacent battle areas, and a nice and uncomfortable wait for it's sister city: City of Villains.

The tidbits offered for this expasion have satiated all but a remaining hunger for some primal lust of superhero/supervillain confrontation not just limited to a few skirmishes outside some shady skinbar in the "bad" part of town either. I'm talking about a full scale superhero battle royal admist the quiet settings of park, or some junkyard. Superfriends teaming up against supervillians in an attempt to thwart their plans for domination of the world.. More updates will come as soon as the latter half of June rolls around. Ignoring the days are the only way I can keep sane while I wait to see if I get picked for EQ2 Beta.

Picked up 2 other games recently: Red Dead Revolver. Made by these guys, the same people also responsible for the GTA series. I have been nothing but impressed with this game, as it was high time they made a good western game. You start off as a Clint Eastwood lookalike named "Red" and as far as I am, you never talk The Englishman talks, and will sometimes even shoot in the direction of the enemy. So far I've killed some of the villians of the old west, like an evil cowboy who drinks some sort of healing acid, which then allows him the ability to teleport to predetermined places while hoards of circus folk with guns try to kill you. And I have killed those circus folk, and each time a bullet enter's their little skull I laugh a little inside. You had to be there after all.

Last game of the evening was Lord of the Rings: Return of the King which I will get you a link to in a bit. The gameplay is fun, you can have anywhere from 1-4 people and the skill level at normal puts it at about a party game level. Previous LotR franchise opportunites in the gaming industry have sucked, and this one was going to follow suit when I found the obstruction between me and actually playing the game. They should make it a universal rule that you can skip any movie that is in a game or else they need not sell it as a game. The movie/story sequences were a pain to watch as I have already seen the movie and wanted to play the game. My precious minutes flew out the window as I saw the end of Two Towers unfurl before my very eyes. Then after that introductory battle there was an ending movie sequence to then before and after each subsequent section of the game. Note: I am not complaining about the fact those sequences exist (than and the GC does not have enough power to play full DvDs). IN fact I applaud them for their intent to help immerse my being apart of the story, I just felt that being forced to sit through a choppy Return of the King clipshow is not my idea of fun. Oh well a free rental is a free rental after all.

The sport I love has made me depressed
Yeah. Who woulda thunk it? Anyway, let me tell you how this madman stuff started to happen (- stolen from catcher in the rye thx). I finally went pro about a month ago and it's everyones dream to go pro sometime in whatever sport they are playing. This team is pretty bad, but 4 of my friends joined and they wanted me to go so I said what the hell, i have the invite so I might as well rock out with my cock out. I join and we get all the hookups, anything we want free. Then I got injured.

Bahamamamama
Ah and so ends by trip to the Bahamas. I left Friday morning and arrived early on Nassau, Bahamas. We got in a cab and told him to go to our hotel on Paradise Island. Now the first thing you notice about Nassau is that it's a shit hole. The funny thing is that it'll be a complete shitty slum and then you'll pass a Gucci or Versace. For the tourists obviously, but it seems to out of place. Hell the shit you buy in there can feed these people for weeks heh. Anyway, got to the Hotel but couldn't check in until 3. Motherfuckers. So we walked over to Atlantis and strolled around until 2:30 and they let us check in early. Unpacked ye olde bags and sat around for a while. It was my Mums birthday so we decided to go out for dinner. We would of done this anyway since we had no food, but that's not the point. We asked for a good Indian place and got sent to "Gaylords." Gaylords is an old manor house turned restaurant. It was a really nice setup and the food was great. The next day I went Charter fishing. Cost me $100, I was smothered with engine fumes all day, and I only caught 1 fish. Granted everyone else only caught 2, it still sucked. Bahamian currency is equal to the dollar. Eh, the following day we did a 5 hour snorkeling cruise. That was good.

To sum it up for you who don't care (most of you.)

-The Bahamas (not Paradise Island,) is a giant shit hole. The English gave it up and the Americans don't want it. Like Canada.
-If a pedestrian gets hit by a car while not on a pedestrian crossing the driver will not be in trouble. Pedestrians do not have rights on the roads as they do not pay taxes. You're safe on a pedestrian crossing.
-Do not drive in The Bahamas. Everyone is insane.
-If you fall down a drain that collapsed when you stepped on it (happened to my friends son,) you're shit out of luck.
-Do not give anyone money
-Paradise Island and Atlantis is good. You should definatly stay there but DO NOT leave.
-Ermmm it's hot?

And now pictures:

All that matters is that I got a new I-94.

FUCK!
Final Fantasy XI is pretty good. It takes a little getting used to, but its not your average mmorpg. A lot less skills and classes then normal RPGS, but it does have the classic Final Fantasy jobs. Decent amount of races I think 7.

The world is huge and very political. When you show your regions map the flags for each different country are shown and there are a lot of different countries. Unlike in the rest of the MMORPGS.. Human city, plains, forest, some evil orc town.. undead possibly. This has a lot of race wars in it, and genocide is an option, so all you young pyschopaths out there.. study hard and look sharp this is a game for you.

The game is kind of hard. Having only aquired 1 new skill upon my 5th level (i'm to 3 overall) and being incredibly poor it's my skill vs. nature as everything beats the shit out of my little human monk ass. I'll be changing servers to Bismark soon. If you are on there look for Nippon.

Gotta kill stuff.

The Punisher
Now this is a review based on the fact that I have never read any of The Punisher comics.

-© Artisan; Photo: Gene Page

Now, this guy's pretty badass. He wrecks just about everyone he meets. I've heard people say they didn't see this movie because they "heard who was in it," or that it sucked. Yeah well shuddup.

For those of you who don't know the story of The Punisher, it's basically this:

Frank Castle is an ex FBI special agent
He retires after one last sting
Guy kills his family because of the last job he did
He gets mad and kills the Guy and all of his family, then goes on to kill bad people.

Simple plot. What makes this movie great is Frank Castle's badassness. He gets shot and gets the shit beaten out of him AND gets blown up and still lives. SPOILER He fights a 6 foot 8 beastly russian guy and gets the shit kicked out of him for like 30 minutes straight and still manages to kill the guy.SPOILER OVER. Fact is, if you're a fan of The Punisher series I think you'll like this movie. It's awesome. Yup.

Awesome movie. My vol. 1 should be getting here in a few days as well. The 2nd is unlike the first in the fact it has a lot more of the story explained and in greater amounts too. Im definitley going to see it again, many more times.

NEWS
I am officially out of debt! Now all the money I earn/save henceforth will be put towards either a trip to Amsterdam or England, moreso the latter. Unfortuntely if I want to go to Japan with a huge group, I will have to forgo a lot of my expenses. Technically I owe the State of Florida Law Enforcement $150 for my speeding ticket which I am going to work on in a bit so I can lower it.

I quit my job in 3 weeks. Then school starts again on May 10th. I am talking with the other shift manager at Blockbuster and have an interview on at 5:30 and all should go well. Where's the emo now? In Elliot's pants!

Hoo hoo hoo.

A break from Vietnam..
Well the novelty of Vietnam wore off. And so it is time to move on... PainKiller bosses are incredibly difficult. And the Farcy.. I need the game. The jungle scenes in this are spectacular. This is how Vietnam should have been like. Your field of vision is greatly decreased as the dense jungle takes on it's own mentality to close quarters combat. Now vietnam's was good.. Farcry is better. Instead of Vietnam's jungle where its just flat green diagonals were in your face and there was a few trees too. In FarCry's jungle though the light is diffused through the leaves to create the proper lighting and visual gems. Even if there is a crucial difference in art between the two games, I still feel that the jungle could have been a lot better.

After this boss, I'm really starting to question if this game was a good investment. The first 3 main bosses were the same guy.. only increasing in size/power. The 1st and 2nd.. down with a real problem. The third has to be changing his proportionality. His arms are about as long as the map (which is a fairly large area littered with gravestones). Doom 3 is scheduled to come out sometime in June, and Half-Life 2 is scheduled for early June. Just thought I'd like to through that it. Neither have gone gold yet, so nothing is too definite.

Lan party has been stalled due to an emergency dinner at Rib City. In a bit 5 player Age of Wonders shall follow. That game is going to take forever.

Thats it.

Formula For Sexcess
What do you get when you mix a poorly written script, zero description of scenes, and a total lack of transitions? The answer is The Alamo.

Now to be fair, this did have some pretty good action scenes. However, due to the fact that it's based of a real event, and that the real event kinda sucked (everyone got wasted really fast,) the actions scenes weren't that long. To make it even worse, they had no awesome close up focused death scenes. It was pretty much rape. They also only had one good looking woman. ONE!!! And she was only in it for 30 seconds. Blah blah hot chicks don't make the movie. Yeah, well they would of helped this one.

I'm not sure if I should reccomend seeing The Alamo or not. It was enjoyable at best, but if you only go out to the movies now and then, pick something else.

Sorry Alamo actors, it ain't your fault, you guys did a good job. Maybe you'll get a good script next time.

Speaking of Counter Strike
I would consider myself an avid gamer. I have gotten pissed off at games and let it ruin my day, I have been obsessed with games. Those days are behind me however, and I am oh so glad. I still cannot imagine how these hardcore counter strike players (losers,) function. Hours upon hours of playing the same game followed by 3 hours sleep and the same cycle. Same level, same scenario. It just aggrivates me. Moving on.

I am enjoying the single life. Yeah, I don't really have a reason to come home at the end of the day other than to sleep, but I do have a lot of freedom. A relationship isn't really a burden in a sense (well some relationships are, but I haven't been in one as such.) The feeling of having someone is nice though. P.s fuck off Will.

Speaking of Will. Will's grandfather decided to get sick so he could ruin my free easter dinner. I'm sure his intentions were purely to spite me, a complete stranger he has never met. What other reason would he have. That's alright though. This frees up my sunday and allows me to go see Oliver at 2 p.m

I'm going to hell

Lillerskates Update
A lot has happened in the past few weeks. Played a lot of Vietnam, yelled a lot at the The TV, more specifically the the Daily Show, which goes to show: democrats are fuckign idiots, but I must digress.

Popped in Age of Wonders for a quick 6 hour game. If you have not played this game I highly recommend that you do. It's a roleplayiung strategy game in which you control different races of beings. It's much more unit complex than Warcraft 3, but not as building/resource gathering oriented. The only drawback is the tactical operation feature as opposed to the computer generated fight. If the units are slighty imbalanced it'll take 10 mins. If they happen to be failry balanced.. expect sitting through quite possibly an hour chess match. The waiting is bested only by the notoriously famous "Counter Strike" waiting times.

A life update: Going back to school, Education is expensive kiddies.
Gotta run.
I'll try Painkiller out and tell you how it is.

Day Off My Ass
If you came into my restaurant today between the hours of 8-3, chances are I really hate you. Sorry, nothing personal, but one gets very cranky after working a 7 hour shift on their day off. With a massive barrage of old people constantly attacking tables, it sometimes gets heard to do my job. 10 people will leave while we're full, leaving 5 dirty tables. That's fine, except for the fact that there's another 20 old rude people at the door shouting. It really pisses me off. Yeah yeah, don't hate the customer for being a customer, and I don't. I just really hate rude customers.

I also hate screaming kids. We had a party of 5 come in (2 adults, 3 children, perfect fucking American family,) and their little girl is screaming "I WANT A BOOTH, I WANT A BOOTH," like some old lady with diarrhea and a bad back. Unfortunatly, booths are made for 4 people, not 5. So Kate (my boss,) sits them at the table. Well this isn't good. As soon as they sit down, the little shit starts screaming at the top of her lungs like she's got a 16 foot cock in her ass. Bitch. So we give them a booth. They order food, she's very specific in what she orders. Guess what happens when the food is put infront of her...

"I DON'T WANT THIS!!! I WANT MCDONALDS!!!"

Die anti christ, die. And you people wonder why I hate you. It's ok. Another day, another dollar. Even though people at breakfast are cheap and don't tip well so I make shit money. Remind me not to work on my day off again.

Child, I wish death upon you by this:

Ze meaning of life.
All politics and debauchery aside, this site needs more "stuff". So here I am adding to it until I get tired and quit, or I go off to see Hellboy. No matter how hard I try I can't stop thinking of vietnam. It consumes me, it envelops my very being at every waking moment. Visions of the video game haunt my very dreams and provide to core to their very existence in my subconsious. This game is particular in it's field in it's ability to capture what I think is one of the greatest moments of realism in history, and I'm not just saying that because I love the game. 1942 lacked a certain human element which seems to coexist (and will thrive under new patches) that Vietnam has so willfully crafted in it's own unique design. While many of the common man sees it merely as a video game based on an event in real time, it's much more to gamers. It brings the music along with much more vehicles and close quarters combat which made the horrors of war seem that much more real.
When you are outside the game it is like you are in some kind of womb waiting for the moment you emerge unto the battlfeifle and either bring wrath and destruction upon your foes, or become yet another ticket falling from your team's total. Much like the real war.
And this is why the game is played. Because real life has doldrums at times, and periods of life which may seem sparse and dull because they demand so much and return almost nothing in the short run. We become tired of this and retreat to a pseudo reality where anything can and will happen. The Americans will win some, or the Gooks will win some, and it really all depends on each individual and how they want to play the battle. Any game can be used in that last statement, but because I enjoy BF:Vetnam so much, it might as well be the muse of this post.

What else happened this week? Blockbuster running a deal buy 2 pre rented video games or movies get 1 free. I bought KOTOR which is an excellent game for the xbox, its a roleplaying action/adventure game pure and simple. The most difinitive feature was the system in which you choose your 'side' light or dark by your actions. Much like the Suffering which becomes hard as balls in the insane asylum. My friend chose the good path which means running about valiantly trying to recapture your more 'human' side by embracing the light and remembering your wife (I'm trying not to give too much away, here) by saving any other humans trying to survive this nightmare. I, however was left with the snout (reference to the Chappel's show season 2, Clip Show, which sucked) much like being handed a slot on the NVA side, because I wanted something different, I embraced my virtual insanity and the path it led me on. Back to Blockbuster, I also bought Soul Caliber 2 for Xbox, which is good. Kilik(the dude with the stick) is my main character and can almost take down anyone else's best character. And the free movie/game award goes to.... Dogma special addition DVD. Which is the final piece in the Jersy Saga according to Kevin Smith (director/somewhat-of-an-actor-Silent-Bob: Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, JandSB Strike Back, and the more recent Jersy Girl).

I dont collect many things besides rock memrobilia from 70's bands nobody has every seen/heard and are made up. But, I urge you all to go to your local Blockbuster with a hamsteak and a fistfull of dollars in hand (or plastic) and take advantage of this deal. NOW!

P.S. VIETNAM!!

Vietnam
I concur Mr Schwarz, I concur. BF: Vietnam is an awesome game. With the addition of a shotgun (splooge,) and other fun things, I'd have to say this is much better than 1942. The AI is definatly better and it's just an overall awesome game. The major difference however, is that Vietnam focuses mostly on multiplayer and lacks the single player content that 1942. Boo hoo, who cares. You can still play single player missions yes, but it isn't quite the same.

Anyway, less talky, here's some screen shots.

Wow Food
Let's do a restaurant review:

First, my restaurant, The Tropical Palm Cafe.
Not actually MY restaurant, but I work there so it's mine in a way.
Excellent select of "American Food." I.e Pasta's, Sandwiches, AMAZING Burgers (fuckers are like an inch thick and super good,) Salads, few hot selections. We have a different soup every day, and Chilli is always on hand. Let me say that the Chilli is sexcellent. I ate it religiously for ages for breakfast with a ton of cheese on it. Mmmmmm. We also serve dinner. Chicken Cordon Blue is great, it's our head chefs recipe. Different specials every day. Overall the service is excellent and friendly (unless you super piss us off,) the owners are always on location, and we're pretty cheap too. If you're looking for a nice place to go, this is it.

Secondly, a place a went to recently, The Coffee Beanery.
While you may have to put up with "cool kids" who think it's cool to be on the "scene" and drink coffee, this place is pretty good. They do have hot food prepared there, along with a nice selection of drinks. They also have live music just about every day, which Karaoke on sundays starting at 6:30. I usually get a hot chocolate. The large is pretty big and topped with whipped cream and served by a cute worker slave girl. Yummy. Sit down, relax, read the newspaper, and enjoy yourself. Nice place to go for breakfast or on break.

It all started last night...
I was innocently drinking coffee, when something caught my eye. Right next to me was a freakin spider. Luckily, i'm not too squeamish, so I attempted to catch it, but the little asshole kept going underneath my T.V.
So I went downstairs and grabbed a mug, and when I finally got upstairs ( the phone rang) I couldnt find it. I tossed the mug and paper onto my bed, and drank some of my coffee. I felt rather ill as something bumped against my lip. I looked into the mug, and the little ( but now swollen and floating) shit had done a kamikaze into the freakin mug!
