I never said smoking wasn't bad. It is, everyone knows it is, even people who smoke. Truth assumes the position of the protector of mankind against an "evil" business. The TRUTH is that Tobbacco Company sells a product which people buy because they enjoy using it. There are warnings everywhere saying it may cause cancer and 'don't smoke if you are pregnant’. And they take heed those warnings whenever a consumer buys the package. They have the right to smoke cigarettes and not get hassled because of their choice. Yes it's a choice to smoke, regardless of what you may have been told about the “dangers" of nicotine being addictive and "horror" stories of people being unable to quit smoking because they are and so the cigarette company is to blame for all the evil and malcontent in this world. There are products which you can buy at local stores that will help you to stop smoking IF you have a problem with quitting. They work; that is why they are still around.
And if that doesn't help send an email to the tobacco company asking for help or go see your shrink to see if you have any deeper problems. The fact is people who smoke want to smoke because they enjoy it. It is dirty and it does stink but hey, people enjoy it.
Speaking of people enjoying things, how about money? The tobacco companies help move the economy (even more so because of those damn lawsuits) and not just the US economy but the world wide economy, and think of how many people are employed by this big business. What would happen if truth were to succeed: massive unemployment and chairmen forced into another Enron position because they are forced into a position where that looks like the only alternative.
Now the next topic on the list is death and cancer. Everything nowadays puts you at risk for some cancer, the sun for instance, if you stay in the sun too long because you want to get tan (kind of like an addiction, but not overtly physical) and after years and years you develop skin cancer. Do you sue the sun? Of course not, you moron, It's your own damn fault you got skin cancer; or your body's for being weak and susceptible.
Truth makes it out to believe that tobacco gives you cancer or kills you instantly, or more recently (using kids as a marketing tool for forcing sympathy is pandering and everyone is guilty) it kills kids with second hand smoke. Which is in fact false, not everyone dies or gets cancer, in fact if you are a democrat you would like the percentages. If you are a republican then you prefer the actual numbers so you can get a better idea of what is going on. The risk does increase for cancer, there is no denying that. The risk for death also increases.. Especially with age and fast food. Some people don't want to live until they are old, and Fuck Truth for assuming that. Some will die in wars, some will die in accidents or murders, and some will go out having fun until the very end I say let them. They won't listen anyways, and the only reason Truth keeps getting more money is because of dumb fucks who think that they are doing humanity some sort of service. And who also believe that since they choose to not smoke it is their personal mission to make everyone believe what they believe. Those, ladies and gentlemen, are the same people who have no faith in humanity because you [the smoker or the supporter] made the wrong choice and therefore are considered an enemy to Truth... and that is the segway into extremists.
In conclusion, fuck people who sue the tobacco companies because they received cancer or have become "addicted" and found the easy way out. Let me reiterate: It is your [u]own[/] fault.
