If he is dead then he can be used as a marytr. Since he is alive, he can be brought through a long and arduous task of bring tried for warcrimes and the likes. The thing about the last few days is that they are the only ones who cared about Saddam. Now that can no longer be used as a threat then everyone can get on with their lives. Besides as valuable as Saddam is [we] are never going to give him up, not even to "Iraqi Terrorists".
It's easy for the other side to quickly take such a grand moment such as this, and find a way to make it negative. We came in there to depose Saddam and that is precisely what we have accomplshed well before our intial date for departure. Be happy that he is no longer a threat and all of his remaining years will hopefully be put on public trial as the ultimate humiliation. Even Hitler could not have be brought down like that. He choose the honerable death.. suicide. Hussein was too stupid to do i; he kept thinking that by sacrificing his dwindiling funds that by some grace of Allah his state could regain power. He under-estimated the American resolve, his own people, and the will of the people he once held in a tyrannical grasp.

Today is a victory indeed over all that which the American people have suffered through, and a chance to snub all the naysayers of this war. They are spineless wimps who wanted the American military to fail so that they could sell more newspapers or emmasculate the U.S. because they think the U.S. is evil, sparking a new kind of terrorism on the homefront: the Media.
